When Dashboards Mislead Analysts

Printed charts and analysis papers on a desk

Dashboards compress reality. Filters drop cohorts. Attribution can double-count. An overnight incident can skew the window you are celebrating.

Our metrics literacy sessions use a short checklist: metric definition, population included, population excluded, refresh latency, and known incidents in the period.

You do not need to rebuild the pipeline. You need enough literacy to ask data partners precise questions and to refuse conclusions the numbers cannot support.

Bring a workplace dashboard to clinic hour. We practice the checklist live so the habit sticks after class.
